The Program will include a cocktail reception, featuring music from the Berkshire Hills Music Academy and including heavy hors d'eoruvres and passed wine; a silent auction and corporate expo; short program and live auction. Special guests to be announced.
The third annual Evening of Opportunity honors outstanding individuals in our community who are employed through Best Buddies Jobs, celebrates companies who employ and support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and highlights organizations and corporations that have displayed a commitment to inclusion and diversity.
The Best Buddies Jobs program facilitates the integration of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) into the community through supported employment.
People with IDD are the most underemployed demographic in the Commonwealth, with an astonishing 20% rate of employment. Best Buddies seeks to correct this embarrassing injustice by locating and maintaining employment for our participants.
Through an individually tailored approach, our office provides job coaching and job development to secure employment opportunities that allow people with IDD to reach their full potential and contribute to the success of the companies they work with.
We currently work with more than 50 participants throughout Eastern Massachusetts, and are hopeful to impact even more in the years ahead.
100% of the revenue generated from this event will allow us to further this mission and provide opportunities for our participants to reach their full potential.
